Weekend with Grandparents

Kate and Lauren's Beiboo and Nana came to visit this weekend. Kate LOVED having them here and was eager to show them all her balls and books. Lauren loved having them here too... Nana's chest was a great place for her to nap(and it so helped me to get much done!). Here are some pics of the grandparents and their new grandbaby.

Is THIS what it is supposed to be like?

We had an unusual afternoon here at the house. Shannon, a good friend of mine from high school, came by to see Lauren and she was, get this...asleep in her bed at the time!?! Hard to believe I know. She slept through most of our lunch and so we got to eat and chat in peace.
Lauren did wake up in time to meet Shannon and demonstrate her vocal aptitude. After she ate, though, and here is where it gets weird, she fell asleep again and stayed asleep when I put her in her bed...Just as that happened guess who arrived? The yard men with their mowers and blowers. But who woke up, not Lauren but Kate(hours before her nap should be over). What to do, what to do???...easy answer is to bake cookies which is what we did. Here is Kate "helping" me spoon out the peanut butter.

Egg Hunt

Today Strollerfit had an Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids. Kate had a great time...opening the eggs was her favorite part (did not seem to care what was inside as long as she could open it).

She also decorated her own cupcake and then "helped" Patton decorate hers. (Patton and Kate will be in the same preschool class next year)

Lauren's Weigh In

OK so yesterday Lauren was weighed and our petite daughter now weighs over 7 pounds!! SO nice to hear that she is growing as she should and that she is feeding like she should (makes me feel better knowing that these all day feeding frenzy's are worth it!).

Last Friday we made our "Friday lunch at Eastside" treck and once again Kate smelled each and every flower in their garden. We finally remembered to bring our camera so here are some shots(she also talked to Dorsey about the state of her garden).

In like a lion...

Has it already been a month?? This time four weeks ago I was in the hospital and likely awaiting more pain-relieving drugs...bliss. Now that we are home (and the drugs have run out) reality has set in. Two girls is a lot different than one.

Lauren is doing great! Her face seems to be filling out and she never misses a meal(and sure does like to snack after 5pm!!!). Kate is adjusting to this new little creature in the house and everyday I think she recognizes that Lauren is here to stay. She helps me bathe Lauren and gets angry when I do not get the step stool set up so that she can help me with Lauren's diaper.

Dan has taken a huge role in things and is ahead in the Husband of the Year award.

We have not taken many pictures but plan to do so soon with the great weather and wildflowers blooming. Here are some that I thought turned out great:
