36 Week Appointment!

Brief summary of my appt today...First I can hardly contain my excitement that we actually MADE IT to 36 weeks!

OK, SO Lauren and I are just getting bigger and bigger! I have passed the 30 pound mark and my stomach pushed out another 2cm since our visit two weeks ago. Everything is right on schedule...speaking of schedules....
Wednesday, March 22nd is D-DAY
(aka Delivery Day)

Here is a little about what is going on with Baby Lauren....
Limbs are dimpling at the elbows and knees as fat deposits continue.
The baby's gums are rigid and it may seem like teeth are about to come out.
The baby's body fat has likely increased to about 8% and may reach as high as 15% by the end of your term.
Baby's Size and Weight this week:
Weight: 6 lbs
Length: 20.75 inches

Where's Lauren??

Although we are pretty sure Kate has no idea what is headed her way in about a month, she is able to answer the question "Where's Lauren?" by pulling up my shirt and pointing to my tummy...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our little Valentine...

Picking Flowers at the "Garden de Luby's"

"Can we eat macaroni's now??"

Lunch from Grandad, her Aunt Funny and a special chocolate treat(that is now embedded in her white shirt-thanks so much)from Queenie made her first Valentine's Day outside fun!

Kate goes to Dallas

Dan did a very nice thing this weekend and headed to Dallas with Kate, alone. They spent the weekend at his parents'(Kate's Nana and Bieboo) new house. From what I hear, they had a great time as Kate showed off her new walking and talking(aka babbling) skills (as well as her lovely necklaces) Saturday afternoon, Dan and his dad drove over to watch our nephew Ryan play basketball. Later that night, Ryan was able to spend some quality time with his cousin Kate.

Alas, by Sunday, it appears Kate realized that her mom might miss her just a BIT...

Spoons...

Everyday Kate seems to discover something new(or say a new word). She is finally wearing dresses (walking has become second nature...and yes, I finally understand the warnings behind "you will regret wishing she walked"). Still working on getting a bow in her hair...

Saturday at Vivo she decided to take matters into her own hands and use spoons to eat(2 of them). It made for quiet a mess but it is just another example of her becoming a "big girl".
Speaking of "big", yesterday, Kate pointed at Sesame Street on the TV and said "big bird". My mom and I looked at each other stunned (did she just say what I think she said) until Kate repeated it as she pointed at the bright yellow figure on the screen.

Everyday is a new discovery...

34 Weeks!

Best put this way...

From this point on your baby has the level of development necessary to survive outside the womb. The baby's eyes are opening and closing in conjunction with its activity and resting periods. The eyes are nearly fully developed but will require a few weeks exposure to light to complete the pigmentation process. Over the final weeks of pregnancy, in anticipation of blood loss with the birthing process, your blood volume will add 2-4 pounds of weight to your body.

YEA!!! She will also hit 5 pounds this week...the C-Section will be the week of March 20th(likely the 21st but it will be confirmed at the 36 week visit).
