Rain rain go away!

Just to let everyone know, we have not washed away in all the rain. I am not really what sure what the sun looks like anymore but I know it is up there somewhere. We are trying to stay off the roads and indoors as much as we can. Forecasters say we may have rain all the way through July 12th...wow...the ice storm was a breeze compared to this...I am not sure how much more Hungry Caterpillar I can read.

Today was Kate's last day of camp and I will so miss it! She did not nap today(came out of her room about an hour after she went down...I hope it is not the beginning of the end for naps!!). We still had a quiet time of sorts, watching Giada and Top Chef on the couch together.

I think she is starting to understand that she has a birthday coming. When you ask her how old she is going to be, she says "5" which is probably the most accurate thing she has ever said.

Monkey Muffins

We are stuck inside because of the rain. Kate wanted to bake something for her snack. I found these great mixes from Kid's Central Kitchen and have had such great success with them. This mix was the last of our first order and I am about to order another variety pack. Today we made Monkey Bread(or because it would take too long to cook a loaf-Monkey Mini Muffins).

New Layout

So the blog is 2 years old and I needed a change. The pink is growing on me...let me know if it hurts your eyes! Any other criticism/kuddos on the new layout would be great! I am still working on links, etc so I am open for other changes too.

Kate had a 24hr stomach bug over the weekend. So far, she is only one who caught it. Only two more camp days and camp is over...can't believe July is almost here(and SOMEONE'S 3rd birthday!!)

Over a week without a post!

To catch us up:

Kate is in camp two days a week and loves it! Two of her friends from playgroup are also in the class so they have a ball.

Lauren had her 15 month check-up last week. She is 24lbs 5 oz and is 31 1/2in long-50-75% in everything. She is saying words but really wants to just repeat what you say(in her own babbly language). Just like her sister, she loves to read and will bring me or Dan books at every opportunity.

We were chosen to receive playtown's newest toy collection(and to host a playdate to test it all out). I somewhat transformed the computer room into a playroom and that is where all the toys now reside. The playdate was a hit and the new wooden playtown collection should do really well once it is on store shelves. The best part was we get to keep all the new toys free of charge! Here is Kate playing with her new toys:

Dan and I spent the weekend at a Bed and Breakfast in Wimberly(thanks again Brandon for such a great treat!!) Dan's parents, Nana and Beiboo, stayed with the girls. I think they were having so much fun, no pictures were taken except this one:

Dresses Herself

Dan has gone to D.C. for a conference and Kate picked today to be even more helpful. Our morning ritual is to change diapers, put on sunscreen, and clothes. This morning I had just finished with Lauren's sunsceen and turned around to see Kate half dressed(shorts on). She soon had her shirt and shoes on too...this is a HUGE difference from every other day-I foresaw myself putting on her clothes as she was off to junior high!

Kate is back in camp, two days a week for three hours. Thursdays are her favorite because it is "water day". The sisters are pretty inseparable when they are home. Here is a pic of them(doing one of their fav things...)

Saying bye bye through spilt lip

Lauren seems to have inherited her mother's (in)ability to walk upright. It wasn't enough that she got a black eye two weeks ago going up a ramp, today she split her lip walking in Queenie and Grandad's living room. This was the first bloody wound that she has had(one more than Kate...).

Tonight we said good bye to Queenie and Grandad. They are off to the cool mountains of Idaho for the summer. Pizza at their house was dinner...both girls loved eating and sharing a picnic with mom.

We had dinner at Queenie and Grandad's tonight. It is a special treat this year because we have gotten to keep them in Austin an extra week...sadly the hot weather is not helping our attempts to make them stay. Pics of hot girls:
