Winter Ills

Winter has not been kind to the girls. We went back to the doctor yesterday to hear that Kate has bronchitis and Lauren is on that same path with her congestion. We did get a good amount of drugs for both girls and the advisement that it best to stay inside until Kate's surgery next week.
Staying inside all day is....

when it is tough to wake up from naps...

when sisters taunt...

when we clap at every musical note(even on commercials)...

when we make our sisters cry...

when we take off our pants for no reason but to make mom crazy..

when we hug our sisters when we think mom might be upset with us.

btw-Kate is having surgery next Tuesday(Feb 6th) to remove her tonsils and adenoids and have tubes put in her ears. Everyone from the ENT to our doctor believe that Darth Vadar will no longer be heard once Kate gets this done-yea! Snoring and other various ills will also be eliminated-double yea! We are thrilled to be having this done now. As we all know, Kate is a trooper when it comes to hospital stays and this one or two day thing should be a breeze.

Round Top 2007

Every year around this time, we make a trip to Round Top and Royer's Cafe. It is a great time to meet up around everyone's birthday and the food is good. While we so miss those that can't make it, we did end up with a good group this year. Pics are from a variety of cameras(we were separated into two tables).

What to do on a snow day...

Day three of ice and we finally get snow!

Had to tear her away from Barefoot...

Dad and his girl

Touching snow...

We are on idea 1004 for what to do inside on a snow day. Baked a princess castle cake before naps and then decorated it when they woke up(naps were just long enough to let me watch last nights episode of 24...). Here is their "creation"

Taste Test

She likes it too!

Snow in Austin

Sorry this is so long but I wanted to have good proof of the snow in Austin today...Kate loved every minute of it!

Lauren Crawling Day 3

We are in the midst of "Ice Storm 2007" according to the news. I am calling it "Toy Storm 2007" because every toy we have ever owned has been taken out and is currently on some floor in this house. Both storms are predicted to last at least TWO more days.... Video is of Lauren doing her "crab" crawl through the kitchen and trying to keep up with her sister(who is singing her ABC's). This will be the last of the crawling videos...for now

Lauren Crawling Day 2

First time to get her on video was actually the second full day of her crawling...

Lauren's 9 make that 10 month appt

Lauren had her "well check" appt today. We have a new doctor and just LOVE him. The office is great and it made me realize how little the "other place" did for their patients.
Anyway, she is just where she needs to be. She weighed in at a hefty 19lbs, 6oz and is 28in long. He was amazed that she has been drinking with a straw since 7 months and her love of all table food. He thinks weaning "shouldn't be a big problem", we'll see...

Barefoot and Milestones

While Aunt Funny was here, she and I made a trip to the mall. Kate wisely stayed at Queenie and Grandad's since they didn't offer viewings of the Barefoot at Barton Creek.

Minor Milestones:
Lauren will be 10 months old next Monday-wow. It is amazing how mobile she is without crawling! That milestone is likely days away since this morning she pushed herself up in sitting position and all day she has been "crawling" backwards(I "retrieved" her from under the coffee table four times so far today). Also last week she started clapping. It seems to only happen at meal time(go figure). She is still very smiley and becoming more and more aware of the world everyday.

Quality time with Aunt Funny

Aunt Funny came for Christmas and got to stay until just before New Years. Kate is still talking about her dog, JW.

Teamwork

Two peas...

Sadly, Aunt Funny did get a touch of that nasty stomach bug we had so Grandad filled in.

Going to "feed dogs"; "no kisses JW"
