Being Inside

The rains are back-what a weird summer we are having! They keep the temperature down but whoa is me-we are inside all the time! Some pics of what we have been doing to keep occupied.

Queenie and Grandad go back to Idaho

Thursday night we went to Queenie and Grandad's house for pizza-it was their last night in town(BUT three weeks from that very day we will meet them at the Jackson Airport!) It was also another chance for Kate to "visit" her car. Pics from the night:

Hands on hips(now where did she pick up that move??)

Riding in style

Kate was most concerned with the radio, Lauren just wanted to drive...quickly

Lauren has had it and refuses to get back in Kate's car...music or not

Reading with Queenie as the pizza is almost ready to eat!

Making Brownies

It is raining here again! We made it through half of Strollerfit before the floodgates opened up. I think I see a little sunshine but we are staying in to avoid all the puddles. After lunch (and multiple apron changes-sadly she would not wear her new chefs hat in any pictures!) we made brownies.

Showing off their aprons

Kate would not smile, just kept saying "We are going to make brownies"

Lauren was so over the apron by this point

One was in charge of yogurt, the other stirred

and stirred and stirred...

Watching Nemo, eating brownies-great way to spend the afternoon

Monday, Monday

I am suffering from birthday party hangover. Pictures, videos and thank you notes await my touch BUT we did do some fun things today that I wanted to mention.

Kate had her 3 year well-check. We heard something that we have NEVER heard from any doctor...she is in the 50-75% in both height and weight! Who would have ever expected little Miss One Pounder would ever see those numbers. He said she is right on track for everything and just an amazing little girl. I agree.

We also spent sometime poolside at Brayden's...Lauren actually touched the water this time(maybe there is still hope for my little land shark!). Only one picture before my camera went out(going to need to replace her soon...she too is 3 years old!)

Kate's Birthday

I am trying to get all pictures and video together. Kate had a great birthday weekend. To recap:

Thursday: Strollerfit, lunch at Luby's, nap, dinner at Queenie & Grandad's w/presents and pie!

Friday: BIRTHDAY PARTY at My GYM!! Dinner at home with much family and friends

Saturday: Vivo!, nap, dinner at Queenie & Grandad's(and the appearance of a pink car!)

I will get the pics up as soon as I can
July 15th is never easy for Dan and I. Kate's birthday is always a little bittersweet because of all that happened three years ago today. It changed us and it made us stronger. We see him in her and so wish we could have watched them grow together. She is a miracle and he is the angel that made it happen.
We miss you Luke and feel you here each and everyday.

Cupcakes!

What do we do when it is raining outside? BAKE! Here is today's creation in honor of the Fourth of July.

Red White and Yummy!

All frosted and decorated...

After our hard work, we eat!

Both thought the frosting was best(not real sure about blue cake...)

Our biggest critic yet he loved even the blue part

Fourth of July

Rainy day for the fourth! We made it to the neighborhood parade-started as observers and then joined it after they passed us by. Both girls loved waving to everyone and seeing the American flag(Kate's new obsession). You an tell from the pictures how dark it is...it only sprinkled on us during the parade but the down pours have come and gone throughout this afternoon.

Waiting for the parade to start

Watching it go by

Bye-bye, going to join the parade!

Girls are asleep now but look for upcoming pictures of our red, white, and blue cupcakes...
