The Shower

Laura and Eagle will be getting married in about two weeks-we celebrated them at our house mid-month. It was the first time the new house was full of folks and it turned out nice. Was great to have so many good people under one roof-if the party was any indication, the wedding is going to be amazing.

The kids had their own party-upstairs with Miss Culley

The hostesses and the bride

Bride and Groom(note the tiara & button)

Uncle B & Aunt Funny...both soon to be off the market....

Aunt Funny & Shady(there is no party unless Shady is there)

Granny and Betsy came all the way from Houston-thank you thank you again!!

The kids pretended to sleep(until they heard about a pinata that was full of candy)

Aunt Funny got the end of it...

Ready for summer

Apparently the girls are ready for summer! This was the girls "dress up" for the afternoon...

Also, my first parent-teacher conference was yesterday. Kate's teacher Ms Debbie was very pleased with Kate's recent behavior(we were having a few issues last month). They tested the kids on all sorts of skills and Kate was able to complete all the tasks without a problem. I did ask if Kate would be ready for Kindergarten next year(since there is someone very central to our lives who is advocating this)...Debbie said she absolutely would be. Kate is "very bright" and would likely do very well if she starts K in the fall. Overall, I am so proud of her and how well she is doing. Love that my little one pounder has grown into such an amazing(and tall!) little girl.

Lauren's Well Check

So funny, Dan and I always think Kate is SO TALL...Lauren's dr is pretty convinced they both are going to be tall. Lauren is in the 95% for height and 75% for weight. Everything checked out great and there are no s-h-o-t-s at the 3 year check so we got out of there pretty easy!
Right now, the girls are upstairs "boxing" with Wii...they are hilarious! Lauren has almost a dance-move motion and really just wants to see everyone's reaction as she boxes. Kate is a bit more serious and tends to give up easily in favor of playing bowling.
OH and speaking of drs, my back is much better. It was a herniated disc and torn/strained ligaments. I am ten thousand times better than I was a week ago-amazing how quickly the body can heal. The injury must have really traumatized Lauren-last night at a playscape she told another little girl "my mom's back hurts" "she walks like this"(and put her hands on her back to demonstrate).

Easter Evening

EB came to Queenie and Grandad's house too! The girls went armed with their easter baskets and hunted away....

Aunt Funny and Eagle came armed with cascarones...

SO sad we did not get a picture of the girls and Eagle's mom. They LOVE her and had a ball showing her all their "moves". She was so dear to bring them some Easter fun (and the chicks she gave them are the hit of the day!!! MUCH better than Aunt Funny's cackling bunny...MUCH!)

Easter

The girls went on a hunt yesterday-had a ball. This morning both were up early to see if the EB had left any eggs. It POURED down rain here last night but EB comes rain or shine. Tonight we are headed to Queenie and Grandad's for a "traditional" Sunday dinner (and rumor has it there may be a dancing/rap bunny performing c/o Aunt Funny).

Pics from the hunts:

Holding hands(dan and I are noticing that they do this a lot lately??)-Ready to Hunt!

Miss Lauren

"Baby Kate" (as the McMahan's still call her)

Post egg and candy high...think we will be in pajamas for a while today

Good Friday

Sometimes I wish the girl's school did not take a holiday...today we all needed one. There are some changes coming to their preschool and we are not sure what the future holds. The girls don't seem to notice(thankfully) and are enjoying some "quality" time with mom today.

We decorated Easter cards this morning and then made rice krispy eggs(sort of):

Lauren was our marshmallow tester

Here she is telling me that this one did not pass and she must now eat it

Kate was the big help-making eggs and putting sprinkles on them...
Apparently the sprinkles made it into her mouth/teeth as well as the eggs....

New grass in the backyard-the girls are investigating all the bugs that came with

Today's Dress-up

This is something that happens nearly everyday. We leave the house, come home, they disrobe(leaving every article of clothing they are wearing on the floor), and they put on dresses. Here is today's version:

Girls and their dad

Dan has been so great during all this back trouble. And to top it off, he watched the girls while I did spa/uchi with Laura & Queenie. They sure do love their dad...

Laura's Bachlorette

Saturday was a to celebrate Laura. She did not want the "traditional" bachelorette party so we all "settled" for spa, uchi, and fun instead.

Here are a few shots of the bride-to-be:
