Summer is fun with two girls who are able to go anywhere without a stroller, diapers, pacy, in tow-thinking this is the first summer since Kate was born that we don't need extra "equipment"-yay!
Most of the summer they will be in a camp or traveling. So far we have done VBS (they LOVED it-still listening to all the songs on a daily basis!), Dallas(they stayed with Nana Bieboo while we went to Playa del Carmen for a week), and Houston(to visit Granny, Aunt Betsy, Sarah and Rebecca-girls are still asking me when they can drive "over to Granny's house"! We made that trip EVEN THOUGH the DVD player went out 15 minutes into the trip...sure do have chatty girls!).
Kate is currently in a Reading Camp-getting all the basics down before she starts Kindergarten in the fall. Her sister spends the morning with me-everyday she asks if we are going to the mall(she is 4 going on 16).
What is funny about our trips to the mall is what she wants to do once we get there. I try to get her into Gymboree or Gap Kids but she prefers going to stores with my clothes. She begs me to "try on" things-not sure it she wants to see me in different clothes or spend some quality time with those dressing room mirrors??!?).
Summer is full of birthday parties too-so many share July birthday's with Kate. Usually it is a great break to the routine and who doesn't love a party of 4-6 year olds?
Girls were SO excited to go to Reese's birthday party where all the girls got to dress as princesses.
We also tried to take some professional family pictures-the one taken in the car with my phone turned out the best....
And of course we cook-usually sweet things (or at times ready made pop in the oven cinnamon rolls) but it is still fun to have us all in the kitchen(and out of the HEAT!)
And at the end of the day, they usually are so worn out that they fall asleep wherever they are-even if it happens to be right next to their best friend.
