May 2013

I forget how wild May is every year. We all talk about how December is crazy with Christmas but May is a close second. Here are some pics from the month:
Lauren's Class went to the San Antonio Zoo-such a great trip and the kids had a ball!
Lauren and her friend Anna

Girls were able to perform with the Regents Knight Line in a Dance Show.
Isabella is Kate's BFF(they both are hoping to be in the same class next year)

Last time to harvest potatoes as a First Grader
Garden with Grandad and Mark (never a dull moment!)
Last time for the first graders to fish as first graders

Lunch at Vivo for Mother's Day-love this group!
First Grade Colonial Tea-First graders come dressed in their "Sunday Best" and are able to practice their best manners. The Fifth graders join them for tea and then present biographical material on our Founding Fathers(each student is asked to speak for at least 10 minutes and be able to answer questions as well as dress the part). Such a fun day for all!

Not to be outdone, the second grade focus on Texas history ends with Battle Re-Enactments.
First Graders also celebrate our country by honoring it with a flag ceremony, Veterans salute, patriotic songs and a picnic.

It is so sad to end each school year. The girls are ready to enjoy summer but we have been so blessed with the teachers we have had it is hard to leave them.
Mrs Crowell -love her! She was the perfect teacher for Kate this year!
Mrs Lane was fabulous! Both girls had her as a teacher and we will miss her next year! She also became the coolest teacher when she was pushed into the pool fully clothed. She continued to swim in her dress-love her!
